Orange is a popular mobile phone company. They have two shops in the Stirling Thistle centre. Recently, orange has been bought by a French company, known as France telecom. Orange is a Public Limited Company who specializes in telecommunications, but also in providing internet services.
Orange has an exclusive service for members, known as Orange Wednesdays. This gives people who have their phone under orange, discounts on going to the cinema. Orange is also adding things to their pay as you go scheme. They have a variety of things to go under, all named after an animal (monkey, panther ect.) and they give you a certain bonus (X number of free texts or talk time) or even giving you money towards a new phone. All these things are beginning to attract new customers.
Orange creates profit in a multitude of ways. They get money from being an ISP (Internet Service Provider). Orange is ISP's for everyday computers and companies large or small. They can also get money from the most common way: Selling phones. To an average normal person whose ISP is something like Tiscali, they just assume they sell phones with their brand name on them. But Orange has thousands of shops around the world and has two here in Stirling, both in the Thistle Centre. They even earn money from hosting certain events. Orange has sponsored a lot of special events and award ceremonies and they can receive a lot of money from them, considering they actually do well.
Orange, if you didn’t all ready know, Is a telecoms company. Not only does it sell phones and provide you with internet connections, but they do some things that some people aren’t aware of. The technicians climb up massive telecom poles and reparse or add things, a vast amount of orange workers mainly work in the offices doing a multitude of things including: ·Repairing faults. The technicians are faced with a variety of faults almost every day. These can range from simple glitches in the network to a whole countries internet going out of service ·Giving advice. Say that Mr.A is sitting in his office and Mr.B is climbing up a telecom pole. Mr.B needs to know if what he has down to the pole has had any effect on the network, so he phones Mr.A in the office and he will tell if it has had positive or negative effects. There are also other jobs including the not so exiting one: Selling phones In 1994 a company called "Microtel" changed its name into Orange. During April of 1984, started diverting to the UK telecoms market. They did this with a single vision. "A brighter future". According to orange, this vision remains the same; they want a world where people can talk from afar when ever they want. Orange has three priorities.

Orange's main aim is to provide good internet service and friendly customer service. They also aim to sell the best quality phones all the time.
Recently, orange have managed to obtain rights to the popular Iphone. There is no accurate date for them to start selling them, but they promise to have it before Christmas 2009.
Not only this, as you may have heard on the news, orange have also bought T-Mobile. They are expecting to properly merge in the middle of 2010.
